After two weeks, I have found that there are NO automatic updates occurring. Defender has to be checked everyday and as for critical updates, I have to go to the repository and download the updates manually now and install. Not pleased at all. Plus I get a message now that even if I have a non metered connection, all updates may not be available. Really?

    Hello Forceflow,

You should be able to use Option Four instead to force it to what you want.

Even if that regkey doesn't exist? I'm on Windows 10 home. I don't have a metered connection, so the way I understand is that this setting would be useless anyway.

You wouldn't be able to use Option 3 since you have Windows 10 Home, but you can still use Option 4 to set the same policy instead.

The .reg file will add the key for you.

That policy will override and gray out Option 1.

But that would basicly just fix the UI bug, right?
I better leave it as it is, since the setting is moot for my system anyway?

Must be specific to Win10 Home, since my pro systems don't have this problem.

Yeah, it's been a bug for a while with that setting not sticking for some.

I agree. I wouldn't worry about it since you don't have a metered connection.

I appreciate your regfixes, but if it's unnecessary I'd rather not awaken the registry dragon :)
