View Configured Update Policies in Windows 10

    Had this issue on last(20H2) Windows 10 and also after upgrading to Windows 11 on a relatively clean install device where I hadn't touched the registry.

    In both cases, had to set following group policy first to "Enabled" and then to "Not configured".
    For Windows 10:
    Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Update/Configure Automatic Updates
    For Windows 11:
    Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Update/Manage end user experiences/Configure Automatic Updates


    Sharing in case it's helpful to someone.

    Hello,

    It sounds like you or some app may have set this policy manually in the registry. Toggling the group policy like that would have cleared the registry setting.
