I find that it usually needs to be a quick sound that doesn't last long.

Hello Randomizm, and welcome to Ten Forums.

It's always possible. What do hear or see instead?

You can double check the steps to make sure you followed them exactly, and everything checks out or not.

Make sure the .wav file is unblocked, in a location (ex: "C:\Windows\Media") that all users have access rights, and the .wav file is not too long or large.

Sorry for the late response. I double-checked the steps. I chose the Windows Shutdown.wav file and it shouldn't be blocked since it's part of the steps.

Just to verify, this will only play when you select to Shut down the computer, and not for any other power option (ex: restart, sleep, hibernate, etc...).

If your computer shuts down extremely fast, there may not be enough time to play the sound.

I suppose post screenshots showing all the settings in your created task for this to see if anything may stand out.

Even if I select "Shut down" it won't play the sound.

    Hi @xRx
Sorry but that does not work in Windows10 1909 x64 Home. The reg key is there and if enabled it will add a "Windows Exit" event in Sounds that accepts a .WAV sound and tests OK, but when shutdown it won't play.
