    Hello @Matthew Wai,

OK, I setup a User Password and ran the ORIGINAL code, it worked WITHOUT the Window opening.

I then Removed the User Password and NO sound was played!

So it is something to do with removing the %W%"<LogonType>Password</LogonType>" and /RU "%ComputerName%\%UserName% from the code, AND, having NO User Password.

    NOT to worry Matthew.

I have put a VBScript into the Startup Folder that plays the .wav file when I Sign-In.

    Thanks.

Will the file be played if you sign out and then sign back in?

    Yes, it does.

I am going to put this to @Brink as a possible addition to the Tutorial.

Do you think I should write a new script for your new method?

I think that it would be a good idea, especially for those who do NOT use a User Password etc. The Script is a lot simpler as well after creating Administrative Elevation and selecting the Path etc and then one line to play the .wav file.

    The Path is => %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsft\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\

On mine, I just created a one line .vbs file to check that it worked.

Done in the above batch script. See whether it works.
It is much simpler than creating a scheduled task.

Works for me. That is SO much easier than using the Task Scheduler. Just need to add a REMOVE Script.

That was a nice bit of collaboration between us.

    Great work guys.

If you like, let me know when it's ready with any needed instructions, and I can add it as another option in the tutorial.

    Hello @Brink ,

It is an alternative solution to How to Play Sound at Logon (Sign-in) in Windows 10 which does NOT use the Task Scheduler. Unlike the Task Scheduler, this solution will work whether the User has a User Password or NOT.

The Batch script will ask you to Enter the location of the .wav file to be played, and will create a .vbs file in the Folder . . .

    > %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\
