    I actually just got it to work. I didn't realize you need to add .WAV to the end of the filename.

    The file path must include (i.e. end in) .wav—the file extension, which can't be omitted.

    I have another question, I didn't want it playing upon the password bar appearing, so I didn't include the "on connection to user session" step, I think I may know now why that step appears. Without it, you get a big ugly powershell window while your startup sound plays. Is there any other way to hide this other than adding the connection to user session trigger?

    I deleted "On connection to user session", signed out and logged back on. I saw no PowerShell window when the sound was played.

    @Brink

    Hi, I need to modify a little bit the "Play_Startup_on_Logon.bat" so I can embed it to my setup file of AncientXP Theme Pack.

    Don't worry, I will post here the theme pack at Customisation subforum.

    Cheers,

    The batch file was written by Matthew, not by Brink.

    Hello @Matthew Wai,

    As I do NOT have a Password for my Sign In, I changed the script so I can just press <Enter> when it says > Please enter the run as password for DESKTOP\<UserName>:.

    Which command actually removes the > Please enter the run as password for DESKTOP\<UserName>:, I am NOT really up with VBS?

    I have also added some Speech using the Set SpeechObject=CreateObject("SAPI.SPVoice"), which works great.

    Everything is fine, except the fact that it shows the PowerShell Administrator CMD Prompt during the playing of the .wav file, and then closes once it has finished.

    Is there any way to Minimise this please?

    Download the above VBScript file. Just double-click to run it.
    If the task "TenForums\Play logon sound" exists, the sound will be played without a window.

    The Task exists, I downloaded it, ran it, STILL have the Window visible [ .bat amendment maybe? ]?

    Also, what about removing the > Please enter the run as password for DESKTOP\<UserName>:, is that possible, not important though, just curious?
