Clean install without DVD or USB flash drive

    1. Add a Windows 10 ISO to your desktop.
    2. Double click on it.
    3. Double-click setup.
    4. Select Save nothing.
    5. After the installation is complete run a disk cleanup (system files)

Now you have a clean install

Even when saving nothing, that still is just an in-place upgrade. When done with same build and edition ISO that your system is already running, it's an in-place repair install.

A clean install lets user to wipe hard disk, format and repartition it when required, just to mention one of the main differences.

    Hi

I followed your tutorial but I have win 7 ultimate 64bit and so I used my win 7 installation dvd to get to command prompt but after getting to setup.exe and pressing enter I got Windows 7 installation window instead of my win 10 20H install.

    Anyone can help?

    Thanks

    Hi Jazzy! Welcome to Tenforums!

You need to create a Windows 10 installation USB flash drive or DVD (it has to be Double Layer DVD) and boot the computer from that in order to do a clean install of Windows 10. Unless you want to install Windows 7 first and then upgrade it to Windows 10.

OK. Then to need to download an ISO for Windows 10, mount it and run setup.exe for the mounted ISO file for Windows 10. It looks like you are missing the step to mount the ISO file.

Nope I did everything step by step copied the files from the mounted ISO to small new partition then booted with win 7 installation dvd opened command prompt and executed setup. exe. But I found out that my cpu doesn't support PrefetchW which is essential for Win 10 install.
