Have downloaded the .iso file using Media Creation Tool
When installing (virtual machine) the installer detects a Windows 10 x64,
BUT shows server versions in the next screen (selection)

Odd, the VM program shows that you have a "Windows 10 x64" ISO in the left screenshot, so I'm not sure what the deal is with the "Windows Server 2012 R2...." options for versions.

Try using the "I will install the OS later" option instead.

What VM program are you using? VMware Player?

The definitive answer to what is in the ISO would be to run DISM /Get-wiminfo on the install.esd file contained in the iso.

I just downloaded VMWare player 12.0.1 to check this. It also picks Windows 10 x64 (or 32) then just gives the choice of Server versions. It is a VMware error, I think because the wim has more than one index (home and pro) so it assumes it is server ISO (server .wim has standardcore, standard, datacentercore, datacenter).

    Install OS later works fine.

    Indeed, having Workstation 12.01
Regretfully I have just 1 series of screenshots made of an earlier install (window 10 enterprise, which I just did for a try, nothing more, nothing less. That version is gone already.

Have screenshots made of that one and they look like this here:

Yeah, using the "I will install the OS later" option instead should allow you to install Windows 10 in the VM.

    Hi
I thought that originally you could chose Home or Pro versions, as I have a USB pen created some time ago, which I marked up as the pro version....But now as I understand it, if I choose BOTH (32 & 64 ) the I only need one USB pen or DVD to install either 32 or 64 bit and Home or Pro versions,,,,makes it easier if this is so
    Thanks
