    Let's try this a different way. Let's say I have build 1903. I want to download a 1903 iso to perform an in-place upgrade repair install.

    To which tutorial would I turn? This seems the only one on downloading an iso file.

    The title of this one seems the only one.
    I would then read

    If you need to install or reinstall Windows 10, you can use the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft to download a Windows 10 ISO file that you can use to create your own installation media using either a USB flash drive or DVD/Blu-ray.
    (which might perhaps better read 'install, repair or reinstall Windows 10')

    I would be thinking 'ah ha - the media creation tool'.

    Of course- and I know how to use that... so I don't read on... and then discover it's only the latest build.

    Thanks.

    @dalchina,

    Ok. I added "Latest" in the option titles to help, and added "repair" in the info at the top.

    Yeah, I just don't like using unofficial download sources. I'll have to look to find something without ads, trusted, etc...

    For historic ISOs, the older MCT's still make the ISO they were issued for. So if you have kept the old MCTs you can still make some (very) old ISOs. If you haven't, then look up https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 in the Internet Archive: Wayback Machine where an archived copy of the MCT can be downloaded from the archived Microsoft page.

    Up to and including the 1607 MCT the products details were hard-coded into the MCT. Any MCT from the original 10240 pair (one for x86, another for x64), through 1511 and 1607 will still, to this day, build the ISO for their respective versions.

    Those old build are of academic interest only these days. The real problem is how to get ISOs for the newer builds, from 1703 up to 1909.

    I use Heidoc and ignore the ads. What about UUPDump? Difficult to find what you need, and more difficult to download the .zip (this is not a commonly downloaded file!) and time consuming to use. But the retail builds are there if you look hard enough.
