Some #WindowsInsiders are receiving Message Code 715-123130 when attempting to download the latest ISO. If you are hitting this, we ask that you please hold off on retrying. We will share when it’s ok to retry again. Appreciate your patience.

After several tries Tuesday and Wednesday I finally got the Version 2004 Build 19041.1 .iso file from the Fast Ring. I haven't gone online yet to get it updated. The Validating request just kept running so I figured the server/s got overloaded.

Well, I guess I'm going to have to go the download & burn the ISO to DVD route, as I'm finding it pretty much impossible to find a legit and preferred (by me) rare-as-hens'-teeth 64-bit Pro retail DVD for a 100% clean install from scratch and I'm not crazy about saving a flash drive version.

My question though is that if I download the 64-bit version to my 32-bit present computer, and then save and burn the download to a DVD, will the ISO still work properly on my future 64-bit build? I'm presently in the shopping and comparing parts stage.

    Hello Tom,

It's good to see you here from Windows 7 Help Forums .

Yes, you will be able to create 64-bit installation media on a 32-bit computer to use on any 64-bit computer.

I would recommend to create a Windows 10 installation USB instead of DVD though. It will be much easier to use.

Thanks, Shawn. Good to see you, too, here.
I'm very leery of flash drives right about now; I just lost about 20GB of stuff on a flash drive through [ahem] user error and my own personal preference is for DVD, but... point taken. And thanks for the 32-bit-64-bit confirmation. Peace of mind for me.

Just as a point of clarification, a download from M$ and buying a key from them will result in a version that will be considered to be "Retail" and not "OEM", correct? I've been known to use OEM versions of OSes in the past and I don't feel confident doing that anymore.

Correct. It will be a retail license unless otherwise noted.

In Option One after the Download has finished you arrive at the final screen where it says Burn the ISO file to a DVD and underneath it shows the destination where you saved the ISO file to and the instruction is to :-
    1. Click on to open location
    2. Click on Finish
What is the purpose of "1.Click on to open location"? Does it just open up the save location in another window and at that point are you supposed to then go back to the Media Creation Tool window and go to step 2. and Click on finish?
Is step 1.Click on to open location necessary?.. Why would you not just select 2.Click on finish?

If you are downloading the Windows 10 ISO in order to be able to mount it and copy all files to a USB flash drive to make a bootable flash drive do you ignore and miss out step 1.Click on to open location..and just select step 2.Click on Finish instead?
Im trying to get an understanding of the benefits of Step 1.Click on to open location and if its a required step or if its not compulsory?

Step 1 just opens a File Explorer Window to where the ISO file was saved. What you do with the ISO file after that is completely up to you.
