I have the Win10_1511_EnglishInternational_x64 ISO downloaded from Techbench sometime in November. As of now as this thread states, techbench hosts an ISO named Win10_1511_2_EnglishInternational_x64 with the revision date of April 27. I have downloaded the June 4 Cumulative update, servicing stack update and the Malicious Software Removal Tool.
I would be performing a clean install on a PC. Do I need to download the new ISO or is the old ISO enough? Is there any improvement for the setup procedure on the newer ISO? Anyway, I need to install the June Update manually.

See my post 326 here https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/9...wnload-33.html

Last week I used the latest ISO file Win10_1511_2_EnglishInternational_x64 and Windows then installed the 4 updates shown in my post. A few more updates arrived this Tuesday. The setup procedure is the same - see https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1...n-install.html

I would use this latest ISO, otherwise you will have many updates to install which is time consuming if you have to install the updates manually.

Note you can only do a clean install if you have bought a Windows 10 licence key or already upgraded the same PC from a previous version of Windows.

Thanks. It looks like those who speak the Queen's English need the English International option!
    Hi there
is there actually any difference between Int.English, American, and UK versions. All these can install the version of English you want plus keyboards.

Not really sure why ms has various "English" editions available --anybody out there who can enlighten me.

    Cheers

Once you have any Threshold 2 release installing you will either need to be seeing the upgrade over a previous version or provide a valid 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 key you purchase in order to see the clean install completed as Steve C has indicated. Note a clean install will be followed next month with the Redstone 1 general release 1st anniversary update build that will go on the same manner the regular updates go on so expect to be seeing a second upgrade take place following the July 26th release.

To move even closer now to that once you have 10 on you can opt to receive Insider Preview builds which tend now to be a bit more stable as well as much further along due to the changes seen with the Start menu, Bash console option, etc. As for the differences between the International and UK none! The differences are between the International and the US which is listed as "English" only.

Since the updates are cumulative, even now it will install only 5 updates - June's Cumulative Update(KB3163018)(this one will contain all previous updates), Servicing Stack update(KB3149135), Flash Player Update(KB3167685), Malicious Software Removal Tool and Defender definitions.

Okay. I meant to ask did they remove any bug or is their any new improvement in the new ISO.

Since, I already have the updates downloaded from Microsoft Catalog, that shouldn't be much of an issue. Of course the time taken to install will be a bit more, but that extra 1 minute shouldn't matter! My main issue is as of now am on a 512kbps connection, so to download a 4.1GB is a bit of an annoyance.

I've a spare retail Windows 10 Pro key.
I hope, I didn't sound rude. Anyway, thanks for taking time to answer my question!

I'm sure I've seen posts on this forum of people having installation problems if the wrong ISO English version is used?

There won't be any more updates with an ISO downloaded in November vs. an ISO downloaded in June, as long as both ISO's are build 10586.something. Windows 10 Updates are cumulative. One cumulative update will take build 10586.0 to builb 10586.420 and one cumulative update will take build 10586.386 to build 10586.420.

I would not feel the need to download any new ISO in the 10586 build series. I would just wait until the Anniversary update comes out in late July and the major build number 10586 changes to something else.

    Exactly correct!

When planning a full clean install you need to select the correct ISO depending on location as well as language for what you are planning to run. Since MS is generally US English the plain "English" tag signifies that is the US version. For the UK and other places where there are some differences you would then choose the "English International" option when going to download.

Even for an upgrade type install you have to pick and choose accurately selecting 10, 10N, 10KN, or 10 Single language being US English in the 32bit only before the next language option appears to insure the correct release is selected. The main difference between the US and International English would be how the same words will see a slight change in spelling. While each word's definition is the exact same a letter or two will be mostly what is found different.

The 10, 10KN, 10N, and Single Language mistake when hitting the first option type of mistake will end up seeing a failed upgrade install once the 10 installer detects the mismatch there. Sometimes people will run into that one. For upgrading over an existing 10 install if not one of the previous versions the most common mistake is simply not selecting the correct option for English according to what is already in use.

For someone running an International English release they might click on the plain English option too quickly that was the US version or hit the International when running the US simply clicking too fast. That is the most commonly seen error where people end up running into that type of problem. You want to know which is the correct choice according to your own location in that regard.

ISOs for build 14366 are now up for Windows Insiders in the slow ring.

    Note
The selected edition can install both the Home and Pro edition.

If you select both for the Architecture, you will need to use at least an 8 GB USB flash drive if creating Windows 10 USB installation media with the ISO.

Your digital entitlement or product key determines if Home or Pro gets installed during Windows Setup.

If you skip entering a product key during Windows Setup, then you will be prompted to select to install the Home or Pro edition.

That is not happening - it automatically installs Pro.
