Shortcut Arrow Can't Pin To Taskbar

I discovered that after running the reg file to remove the shortcut arrow completely I couldn't pin programs to the taskbar. After restoring the default arrow I could. Strange!

Hello FortFun, and welcome to Ten Forums.

That was a bug from the old .reg files. They have since been updated, and no longer have that issue if you would like to try them again. :)

Thanks Brink, I will redownload and try again. Thanks for the quick reply! I'll post with my outcome.

I downloaded the re-ran the reg file but the arrows remained. However, all is not lost. I followed your tutorial and manually edited the registry (had to add the "Shell Icons" entry) and arrows are gone and I can still pin! Thanks!:)

Sorry Brink, should have clarified. I meant mentioning in the tutorial that Options 1 and 2 will cause the outline to appear, so people don't have to dig through this thread.

Same thing happened to me. Option two would leave a small "transparent" square outline inside the icons:

Option one will remove the outline, but cannot pin programs to taskbar.

Is there any solutions to have icons with no arrow and no outline, and still be able to pin programs to taskbar? Can you at least mention this issue in the first post?

    Thanks!

    Hello Sanorin,

That was a bug from the old .reg files in OPTION ONE. They have since been updated, and no longer have that issue if you would like to try them again. :)
