Hide or Show Preview Handlers in Preview Pane in Windows 10

    Could be me that's confused :)

    I re-ran the enable Photo Viewer .reg file, as at 1st I thought the 1803 Update had redone the registry , but that didn't help ( Photo Viewer was still on the list of Defaults Apps, so I don't think now, 1803 touched the Registry )

    So I came back to this thread , after remembering I had issues previously with Preview Handlers to see what I did then and neither Option 1 or 2 helped , so on a whim I reversed the previous fix , ie. unchecking the Thumbnails box and Explorer immediately showed me the Preview.....

    So I am missing something I guess or I got lucky :)

    No worries KB.

    You're just referring to the Always show icons, never thumbnails setting instead of Show preview handlers in preview pane.

    That is correct , Show preview handlers in preview pane was already enabled but in 1703 and 1709 I also had to Check the Show Icons ,never Thumbnails box as well with 1803 I am back to not needing it , no idea why , but as long as it works :)
