Ok, then why does it have to tell "defrag.exe that it is being called from the task scheduler"?
The "-$" means it is being called from task scheduler. What difference this makes is unclear - reduces priority perhaps.
command line interface - Defrag options in Windows Server 2012 - Server Fault
As promised...
It has gone 27 days without optimising, and now on the 28th day it suggests 'Needs Optimisation' which begs the question... well just do it then :) The set schedule is meaningless. Also, even partitions that have seen no change in data since last time are also advised to be optimised.
Its not really a whinge, just an observation.
Oh OK. I'll let it drop now :) Honest.
How would I go about doing this with intel optain + HDD? I think something went wrong on my PC with possibly an update or something. It didn't do this when I looked at optimize drives a couple months ago

@Brink Do you have any idea what might have caused this? I used to be able to optimize both my external and C drive :/
