    Hello rdwray,

$ = Tells defrag.exe that it is being called from the task scheduler. It's not a new parameter for the command prompt.

Ok, then why does it have to tell "defrag.exe that it is being called from the task scheduler"?

The "-$" means it is being called from task scheduler. What difference this makes is unclear - reduces priority perhaps.

    As promised...

It has gone 27 days without optimising, and now on the 28th day it suggests 'Needs Optimisation' which begs the question... well just do it then The set schedule is meaningless. Also, even partitions that have seen no change in data since last time are also advised to be optimised.

Its not really a whinge, just an observation.

I usually just end up manually checking about once a month or so to be sure.
