I must admit that I'm not sure why the status bar isn't showing for you with your settings clearly set to do so.

Aren't you going to ask me if I cropped out the status bar just to mess with you?

    *sigh* I didn't

A repair install would probably fix this, but you could wait to see if the next update may sort it.

I'm with Prof59 here, I've not had the Status Bar for a while on Win 10 on my Desktop (Since I upgraded to Win 10 if I recall, as it's been a while) yet my Laptop is fine.

PC went XP-7-10 and Laptop I got second hand with 8.1 on and I upgraded to 10, although it's Home on the Laptop and Pro on Desktop.

Having the same problem as prof59 and its fresh install of 1903 ofcourse m$ would break things for no good reason.

Any ideas how to get the file details showing up like in Win7? For example it used to show the exif-data for jpgs (tags, ISO, f-stop etc.). Now I'm only seeing: "xx items. 1 item selected 3,45 MB" and that's it.

Useless cr*p this kind of oversimplified status bar if you ask me. Any registry tweaks to get more info visible?

    Hello pake,

You could use the Details pane for that instead.

Thanks. Yeah, I noticed that the Win7 status bar was identical to 10's but you could move the Details Pane to bottom - unlike in W10. I ended up solving the issue by using a freeware called OldNewExplorer to move the Pane to bottom.

Yep, it's way later, and updates haven't changed that one thing.

I get used to the updates wiping out my Win 7 games, reducing all my fonts to 9 point, and things like that. But this is the only thing I've never found an answer or workaround for.
