Got it. What is the point of the registry tweak in that case? Was the registry tweak the only way to show or hide the user profile folder in older versions of Win10 prior to the "Show all folders" right click selection being available in Explorer? Thanks!

Some folks don't like how "Show all folders" arranges everything other than "Quick access" under the "Desktop" group in the navigation pane.

This reg tweak allows them to be able to have the User Profile folder as a separate group in the navigation pane, and not have everything under "Desktop" with "Show all folders".

It's basically just one of those personal choice options, but I like to provide choice when able.

Ahhh I see. So the registry tweak adds the user folder to the navigation pane as a root directory while the "Show all folders" right click menu adds the user folder as a subfolder under the Desktop root. Right? Thanks!

Seems I cant remember how not to show the User's folder into the panel.

I've run both this reg and the other one "remove ALL user's folder".
    Restarted explorer.... nothing avail :-(

    Help !

    thanks
    Alain

    Hello Alain,

It looks like you have Show all folders turned on. Turning it off will allow the tutorial to work to remove it from the navigation pane.

I'm back to make this specific note.
There are also multiple positive effects on folder Panel:

    Desktop > Disappear
    User > Disappear
Empty USB Drives Desktop > Disappear
    Libraries reference > Disappear
    Recycle Bin > Disappear

    Control Panel > Disappear

    Un-ticking once, big results

The most annoying that's removed is the Empty Usb !!!

    Yey !

    Before > After

Brink, feel free to use that picture and insert it in the first post!

Greetings. This will no longer work and User cannot be removed so far. TrustInstaller has been installed in the key you are referring 2 and no changes can be made. I have been to the key you are changing and it is a no go now. I have run your bat file 4 times, another one once, went to the registry key and found the trustedinstaller there which is plugging up the whole thing. Now I can not find where I was because the web site will not come up in search so U all just might not believe me. This no longer works at all.
