Hello Mark, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Windows 10 has .pdf files associated to open with Microsoft Edge by default.

It sounds like you want to have .pdf files left unassociated to always see the open with dialog. If so, the .reg file below will do so.

    Hello Brink,

I imported the values of Unassociate_pdf.reg After i reboot Windows I get the following message in the Actioncenter:

Restore Default File Type Associations in Windows 10-pdf.png

Translated this means. There is another app that have been set as standard app. There is a problem with the standard app for pdf-files. Microsoft Edge has been set again as standard app.

So Windows will reassociate Microsoft Edge automatically after a reboot when the register is changed. I don't know why it does this. The goal to show the popup again I need (this has to do with image's I will make to restore workstations). What step do I miss here to get it like the factory default again?

In the meantime, thank you again for your attention and participation.

    Mark

I messed up my animated cursors so now they show a blank file rather than the cursor, any chance of adding a fix for .ani files?
    Thanks.
