Sorry, I forgot to mention that it does not work on Windows 10 although I had successfully clean-installed Windows 10 after using it: How to convert MBR partition table to GPT without data loss
It can't possibly forbid a user to install Windows although it is not intended for Windows.
GParted is a partition manager based on Linux. It´s used from a boot UFD. I don´t know if it can do this conversion, but it can do other partition work.
Hi Shawn, could the tutorial referring to the free version of Minitool PW be corrected as the free version generally available doesn't support this, as noted in comments above and in this thread:
MBR2GPT Error - Frustrated
There there is a link to an older free version that does.
However that thread indicates that Easeus PM seems more informative.
I gave wrong advice based on this tutorial. Thanks.
Hi Shawn,
The MBR to GPT conversion method for Minitool Partition Wizard requires similar prerequisites as in this tutorial:
Convert Windows 10 from Legacy BIOS to UEFI without Data Loss
This was a recent thread in which Mini Tool was not able to be used until the extra partition was deleted:Code:Although disks configured with MBR-style partition can have up to four primary partitions, for this process to work the disk you want to convert can't have more than three partitions, because one allocation is needed to create the new UEFI system partition.

Please consider updating this tutorial by adding the prerequisites or commenting on the prerequisites in the How to Convert Windows 10 from Legacy BIOS to UEFI without Data Loss tutorial.
