I've just tested this on two of my systems, 14393.1593 and 15063.540. Both already had WMP turned on in 'Windows Features' but neither had the context menu there by default. 'Add_Play_with_Windows_Media_Player_context_menu.reg' did not add the context menu on either system, even after a restart.

Personally that's no hardship though, having previously used 'Open With' to browse and find WMP. So it (and others I've 'opened with' before) are available at a right-click as well as the default Microsoft apps.

AHA! So there is something wrong with that regedit file. Maybe someone can fix it? I did some research and found this is where context menu handlers are. I know you can hit open with but I want the Play With option.

    It still doesn't work Brink

I used the removal reg and your new adding reg also rebooted with nothing working.

    RECONBunny,

I'm not sure what method may have removed it for you, but you could use the method Bree posted above as a workaround to open the file with WMP without setting WMP as the default app.

    Just for the record:

Remove Add to Windows Media Player list Context Menu in Windows 10

If you want to remove the "Enqueue with Windows Media Player" entry too, copy & paste the 5 lines of the *.reg file and replace all
    \Play
    with
    \Enqueue
    which finally looks like:
    HTML Code:
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Stack.Audio\shell\Play]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Stack.Image\shell\Play]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\audio\shell\Play]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\Directory.Audio\shell\Play]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\Directory.Image\shell\Play]

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Stack.Audio\shell\Enqueue]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Stack.Image\shell\Enqueue]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\audio\shell\Enqueue]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\Directory.Audio\shell\Enqueue]
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\Directory.Image\shell\Enqueue]

If you turn off windows media player in Windows optional features, is the Play with WMP context menu entry disabled as well?
