    Joergi,

You're still seeing that message since the update has already been downloaded and ready to install, and now waiting on you to click on "Continue" to install it.

You should be able to use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to reset Windows Update to clear this.

No, this did not help. With administrator privileges, I executed your bat file and it showed that the commands ran successfully. However, the update still showed up. I ended up just installing it.

Apart from that, the "Show or hide updates" diagnostics tool now shows a number of driver updates in the category "Can be hidden". According to the tool, these upgrades are not hidden currently. However, they are not shown in Windows Update.

    Any advice?

Those could be left overs that only show in the tool if you had upgraded to Windows 10.

There's nothing that needs to be done for those.

I am afraid because the diagnostics tool among other entries lists drivers for hardware, which my PC does not even contain. It e.g. lists a Bluetooth driver, although my PC does not have a Bluetooth module. What will happen, when a new version of that driver becomes available? Will it try to install that one as well? That would be useless!

So I've been running W10 Pro for a month now and today I did my first monthly manual update (always the first every month) and I think the update situation is acceptable. I almost forgot running the wushowhide tool first to see if there were any nasty drivers but nothing I didn't want. What's great is that the tool lists ALL available updates, not only drivers.

Can someone confirm that using a reg-file in Windows 10 Home/Bing actually works to disable automatic updates? I haven't dared to upgrade my laptop because of this.

    Hello Mertzi,

I can confirm that setting the policy using a .reg file to disable automatic updates will not work in the Windows 10 Home Edition.

The tutorial below has some other options that may help you with this in Windows 10 Home though.
