Are you sure?
Cause I'm almost certain, that other processes I've stopped earlier (mind you in Win 8.1) never returned or got active again untill I myself startet them in Task Manager ...
Most wouldn't, but Windows Update has a Automatic Maintenance task that will automatically start it again when scheduled.
I'd like to know how to disable it, so if you got a minute or so to explain, I'd be delighted to listen :) cause that's really what I wanted to do. Well, unless it's too complicated to explain(?), that would be great :)
Early mornin' here - nighty folks.
No problem. OPTION FIVE in the tutorial below can help show you how to. :)

this is very helpful. My computer keeps want to install updates for programs that I don't even use, have, or uninstalled. Such as outlook, Skype for Business, one drive, and onenote.
After clean install of Windows 10 Pro x64, Windows found and installed my laptop’s camera as “HP Universal Camera Driver”.
As the camera was not working, I followed the recommended by HP step 4 (HP Notebook PCs - Fixing Webcam After Changing the Operating System | HP® Customer Support) and the Microsoft USB Video Device was installed as “HP Webcam [2 MP Fixed]” and everything was working properly…. until yesterday’s Windows updates (that brought the OS to 10586.104), when the update reverted the camera to “HP Universal Camera Driver” and of course it was not working.
I noticed that if I change it back to “HP Webcam [2 MP Fixed]” as above and try to update the driver online, it is always coming back as “HP Universal Camera Driver”.
I found the latest Realtek driver for the “HP Webcam [2 MP Fixed]” and installed it to prevent the update, as this is a fairly new driver (Oct. 2015), but again if I update the driver online, it reverts to “HP Universal Camera Driver”.
I run the wushowhide.diagcab, but it does not show the camera driver, apparently because there is no update yet.
How can I hide the camera from updating?
If I go to the Group Policy Editor at:
Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Device Installation > Device Installation Restrictions > Prevent installation of devices that match any of these device IDs
it will disable the update, but Windows Update will still be downloading the driver package, it will attempt to install it, and then fail. And it will just create a lot of failures in the Windows Update log.
Is there any other way to prevent update of the camera driver?

Hello Dimitri, :)
You might also see if turning off automatic driver installation may help.

Thanks Shawn :)
I have already considered this option, but it's a global setting... and I was thinking to just stop the updates of the problematic device and not all of them.
I am really happy with this especially now with the combination of the GPedit of Windows updates
This all will help over @ The Windows 10 Insiders...thanks again Brink.*john
