    Cliff,

I'm afraid not. You would also need to purchase a Windows 10 Pro key if you don't have an activated 7 Pro/Ultimate or 8.1 Pro to upgrade from on the PC, or already have a retail Windows 10 Pro key.

BTW Shawn, the tool interestingly picked up on all the updates I had hidden in the prior incarnation of the system, i.e. Win 8.1. Clever tool.
That is interesting. Not sure why it would include that though.

Must be dead registry items left over. Leaving those unchecked in the tool didn't make them appear in updates....thankfully.

    Hi Brink,

I went through the tutorial and I think it worked: I used the Diagnostics Tool to hide an update and now when I run that tool again, it tells me that this update would in fact be hidden. That is good so far.

What is not good is that in Windows Update I still see this update. I guess this would change, if I did a new search for updates. In Windows 7 and 8.1 this was possible with a button. But in the Windows 10 Windows Update I do not see such a button. There only is a "Next" button below the update, which should now be hidden.

I would like to do a new search to verify that the update is really no longer displayed now. It would be great, if you could tell me/us how that is working! I would propose to add this information to the end of the Tutorial!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Tks, and I am going to upgrade my Perm Activated Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro soon. I am suspecting that it will then become a Permanently Activated Win Pro version. Is that correct ? Thanaks... Cliff M.

    Hey Cliff, :)

Yes, that would be correct if you purchased a Pro key.

The Diagnostics Tool now shows the update in the category "Hidden updates" and the Windows Update window still lists it. Windows Update says "Updates are ready for installation" with the button saying something like "Next".

    Joergi,

You're still seeing that message since the update has already been downloaded and ready to install, and now waiting on you to click on "Continue" to install it.

You should be able to use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to reset Windows Update to clear this. :)
