I'm trying to hide the KB5034441 update that keeps erroring out even though it doesn't belong on my system in the first place, but when I run the troubleshooter and click "Next", it simply says "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem" and the only option I have is to close the troubleshooter.

I'm used this troubleshooter a few times in the past with no issues. After having this issue I downloaded it again and it was clear that the troubleshooter package had changed due to a file size difference. But the new version of the troubleshooter gives the same response.

What is going on here? My god I am so tired of fighting Windows. By god I swear I am tired of it.

    Hello,

This is a common issue with that update. The error can be safely ignored for now until the next patch Tuesday.

    KB5034441 Security Update for Windows 10 (21H2 and 22H2) - Jan. 9

You do not need this update if the PC does not have a recovery partition. In this case, the error can be safely ignored.

Hello --- the reason why the patch is failing is that it trying to update file(s) in the recovery partition and that partition is to small -- MS does have a solution, but it requires using command like diskpart to make the partition larger which could be problematic -- in my case I used the free partition manager from paragon software. As noted, this patch is due to BitLocker issue, so for the most part it can be skipped --- there are some tools to block a patch --- check out Blocking Windows Updates That Trigger Issues - Blocking Windows Updates That Trigger Issues for more info on that

I hid KB5034441 several weeks ago and it worked.
A few days ago I made a C:\ drive image & tried to move the Recovery partition from the left to the right, but it didn't work. So I restored the image.
But KB5034441 tried to install again. I looked in wushowhide and the update was not checked to hide.

Since the C :\ drive image was restored I would think that the wushowhide settings would have been restored but that didn't happen. Where does wushowhide save its settings?
