Hello sekhmet, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

You might see if you may be able to do a system restore using a restore point dated before this happened to hopefully be able to quickly fix this.

    System Restore Windows 10
    Thank you Brink.
I came here to look for help with my PC problems.

I only have two system restore points that i can see one is January 29, and the other is February 1. I know i did this before both of those dates.

In that case, you may need to do a repair install without losing anything.

actually i tried that twice and both times my PC turned it self off.

Does that remove anything though? Apps, or programs? I'll give it another go and see what happens, bit worried if it does take stuff off, like AVG, i have the paid one, and a paid for PowerDVD 13, although i use 10.

A repair install usually will not remove anything.

If you have a laptop, make sure it's plugged in before starting, and not overheating.

Nah, its a desktop HP Pavillion, it is whirling around a bit (the fan), i can hear it. Would it have anything to do with my Windows 10 going to Windows 10 1511?

Not if it's already finished updating to it.

Hello ghased, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

If you select "Keep personal files and apps" while doing a repair install, you won't lose anything,

You will lose all apps and programs that didn't come with the computer with the "Keep personal files only" option.
