OK, finally solved it through an extensive Google search. There were several elevated cmd functions I tried, the last being wsreset -i or something to that effect and when I restarted two notifications showed, MS Store was installing 95% done as was MS Store Experience.
I had minor trouble within the app library as it showed updates waiting for both the above (erroneously as they updated, store restarted and they both showed up again for update) but after clicking the 3 dots next to them & cancelling those now it's working fine.

According to Sumit a Moderator on Microsoft Forums this is the only tool you need to reinstall MS Store.
I used it an it works.

Use “wsreset -i” (elevated) command to reinstall and Reset Microsoft Store if it is missing from within Windows.

The Store will download and reinstall itself after a restart.

Way back when we could download it manually but no longer is that method working. @Brink FYI

(After a Reset alone had deleted Store completely).

    Thank you Peter.

I've usually had to do a repair install of Windows previously to reinstall the Microsoft Store app if the Microsoft Store app had been uninstalled.

    Peter,

That solution was by @Sumit Dhiman. He has long been a source of invaluable Windows advice. He doesn't take part in TenForums very much these days, which is our loss.

Might I just check my understanding of the situation - This method did not restore the Store app?

If so I can make a note not to bother with it but to use Sumit Dhiman's solution instead.
    Run elevated
    Code:
    wsreset -i
[I have not been able to find any guide to wsreset syntax.]

    All the best,

The last time I clicked Reset it vanished completely. That Cmd got it back.

    Peter @Ex_Brit and Denis @Try3,

I just tested by uninstalling the Microsoft Store app for all users using the command below.

    powershell -command "Get-appxpackage -allusers *Microsoft.WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage -allusers"

I then ran the wsreset -i command. It did indeed reinstall the Microsoft Store app.

I'll have a new tutorial ready for this today, and post back with a link when it's ready.
