Yes I did remember doing that.
I would suggest a step that definitely works in W11. I tried it when my spotlight got stuck in W11, without deleting the assets and settings folder.
Open Powershell as Administrator and type the following two commands:
This will reinstall the ContentDeliveryManager app and within a few hours it should work. It worked in W11, maybe it works in W10 too.Code:$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage *ContentDeliveryManager*).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest
All right I ran that command. Let's see if anything changes.

I tried it and unfortunately still the same.

Looks like my only option is a in place repair upgrade?
Does anyone know if an 8.1 Enterprise key would work to activate 10 Enterprise? Just curious.

I just finished an in place repair upgrade and the Spotlight Assets folder is still empty.
Never mind it repopulated and now it's working again.

A recent cumulative update or power outage broke Windows Spotlight again. Now I have to click Not a fan of this in order for the picture to change.
"make sure that the Microsoft Edge (only if listed), Microsoft Store, and Settings apps are turned on in background apps "
I don't have Microsoft Store turned on in background apps and Windows Spotlight works fine.
I tried Shawn Brink's tutorial many many times and it did not work for me. My assets folder only have small file size images that are not Windows Spotlight images. I am not stuck with the Mountain Lake with the red backpack default picture. 😭 I don't know what else to do.
