Hi, I have tried all solutions I found on internet but never success to restore w10 spotlight functionnality.
but today I have tried some new actions, and eureka , everything is working. Below steps I did :

    1) Open screenlock config panel and select "picture" as screenlock

    2) Delete ALL content of dir : (ALL content, not only localstate or whatever)
    Code:
    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy
(Don't be afraid, one could stay (roamingState) with a non existent error if you click on it) Doesn't matter

    3) open powershell with admin rights, and paste :
    Code:
    Get-AppxPackage -allusers *ContentDeliveryManager* | foreach {Add-AppxPackage "$($_.InstallLocation)\appxmanifest.xml" -DisableDevelopmentMode -register }
    4) open regedit with admin rights, and remove or rename all content of
    Code:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Creative
    Keep "S-1-0-0" with RotatingLockScreenEnabled = 1 inside

    5) Restart computer

    6) go back to screenlocker control panel, select spolight, and everything should be ok.

You should see that all the package dir has been recreated, and also one new entry in registry under "creative" for your connected user.

The main difference with all other solutions I found on internet was the delete of the package directory and the remove of register keys.

Hope this helps some of you.

Be carefull with registry, don't remove anything else, it could stuck your windows install.

    After 18362.207, Spotlight is stuck.
After trying Shawn's script, without success, I tried this approach, but again no dice! I even left it for more than 24 hours, but nothing...it's still stuck!

I think i isolated my problem to my user account. after trying everything decided to reinstall windows and spotlight started working again.

it was needed to logged in to my Microsoft account to activate windows since my product key tied to my account. as soon as i logged in spotlight stopped working.

    any help welcome

Repair Install with an In-place Upgrade didn't fix it either. Spotlight still not working!
    I've run out of ideas....

It's working fine for me in 18362.207, have you tried resetting it? Remember, it can take a day or so after a reset to begin working again.

Yep...reset it...reregistered it...left it for 3 days (not only one), i even tried in-place upgrade with Windows 10 ISO, but no dice.
Still stuck to the default pictures, doesn't add any new pictures at all.

I'm sorry to hear that. My reply was mainly intended for andyouf's benefit, maybe it will work for him.

Hey @Bree. Yeah just reset it and it is at that default picture like in post #143 so will wait and see what it does.

Edit: Well on 18362.239 it still is at that default spotlight picture. Don't know if @ddelo has any news. I'm not up for an in-place upgrade over this, especially if other users are having the issue. Not a big deal.

Before I had reset it it was stuck on a picture of a location and I could put that I don't like pic and it would change but then be stuck on that one.

Latest cumulative update in September broke the Windows Spotlight for me. This tutorial worked!

Thanks again for the outstanding documentation.
