I'd prefer to do the steps manually rather than download and run the batch file. I can delete the files in the 2 folders just fine. The reset/re-register command does not run -- I see an error message of:

'$manifest' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

That is a cmd.exe error message. Did you run the command in a Command Prompt? It should be run in Powershell.

    Hello enso,

Did you run the full command below in a command prompt?

    Code:
    PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command "& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage *ContentDeliveryManager*).InstallLocation + '\AppxManifest.xml' ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}"

I tried again, being very careful to run the full command in a command (not Powershell) window, and it worked. Thanks!

Well, shoot; it worked for a bit, but then reverted to not showing the "like this?" and other text overlays, and now those steps don't change anything... :-(

The text overlay disappeared yesterday on my computer when the image changed. And when the image changed again today, there was still no text overlay. It had been working nicely for several months. I wonder if this is a temporary issue with Bing.

GroundSloth, the same thing seems to be happening with my computer. Guess we'll have to see where this goes.

Just to verify, are you testing this on the lock screen when you lock (Win+L) the computer, and not at startup?

Personally, I've always found Windows Spotlight to be a bit buggy and not always change often or include the tips and such on it.
Wow! Brink, I've been fighting with this for weeks now with Microsoft, and the Windows+L step finally worked today. Don't know what will happen when I do Start>Lock, but I at least see the "Like what you see?" prompt again. I'll now rate it, after I try the regular resume/Startup method again.

Tried normal Lock, and got the fixture of the sign in screen. It never leaves the screen, and the monitor doesn't time out at all when the sign in screen is the "lock" screen.
