I noticed a space in the full path of the icon file.
No space, I double checked. Btw, icon changed in quick access and This PC, but not in C:\Users\MyName. I use UltraUXThemePatcher to apply other themes.
    Thanks for fast responce

Tested and works. You are the best :) TY.
But still will keep these folders hidden in This PC for more minimalistic view.

Hi, I have a problem with the Downloads folder only. Everything else worked but the downloads folder in quick access just wants to stay to its old icon. I'm going for a Win98 theme and the one gray minimalist icon doesn't fit whatsoever.

In regedit, I found all entries for "{088e3905-0323-4b02-9826-5d99428e115f}" and set all of the Defaulticon to "C:\Windows\System32\WIN98 Icons\download.ico".

Not sure what to do but hopefully time or something of that nature will fix it.

Thank you for all your posts, brink!

Hello Justin, and welcome to Ten Forums.

If you haven't already, you might see if one of the options in the tutorial below may allow you to change the icon of the Downloads folder in Quick Access.

I already went through all of that, nothing worked. What else could work? (thank you for your quick reply on my last reply.)

As a test, unpin and remove the Downloads folder from Quick Access, then "Pin to Quick Access" the Downloads folder with the correct icon to see if it may now refresh to show in Quick Access.

Did that already as well. I've also restarted.

I must admit that I'm not sure why it doesn't use the same icon as the folder you pinned to Quick Access.
