I'm not sure I follow. If you disable automatic updates, it should definitely not check every day. Why would it check every day if it can't install updates?
Hi..just one more thing incase there is a misunderstanding...If you are looking to 'Disable' the windows updates completely then that is a different story....which you can do in 'Services'...let me know if so.

I have disabled auto updates via Group Policy. It works correctly. There is no reason to disable the service. What are you trying to diagnose?

I asked only one question: if someone could confirm there is no visual reflection of the Group Policy setting in the Settings app. TenForward confirmed that. Since then, you've actually asked me a lot of questions.

Sometimes there is no confermation in Settings>Updates 'Some settings are managed by your organization'...is that what you were looking for?
It does'nt have to be there to show that group policy is working.....this note has disappeared with the newer builds....but it still remains on my 10586 system.

Hi...maybe you should reset them all over again...meening set to unconfigured and restart the computer then go into GPEDIT.MSC and enable the updates to 'Notify to download and Install'.
It should work ....and it must work ...if not then there is something wrong with your update....
You also have to have the PRO version...
Home will not work as there is no Group Policy there.

    Hello Gunzorla, :)

I find that using OPTION FOUR to set your Internet connection as metered works best to disable automatic updates in Windows Update.
I Need to Question for Option 1 Brink

Why I Need to do Click "Check for Update" (Step 9) After Set to Notify for download And Notify for Install (Step 8)

I Think It Should Be Finish in Step 8 ?

If I Click "Check for Update" Button It Auto Download and Install
