Why not on 1803? It's a lot more stable!

Simple. Update hasn't notified me about it and I didn't know it was available. I can only guess it may have had something to do with the last 1709 update that I never could install because it had the restart loop back problem.

    Thanks. I'll check it out.

You're welcome! Also if Windows Update isn't working properly, you can download the Windows 10 update assistant or Media Creation Tool to upgrade to 1803!

Yea I know. About 25 years ago, MS used to invite users into their labs to test software in development. That's how it all started. That led to becoming a WIN95/MSN beta tester. I had the greatest e-mail address at the time: "ron@msn.com". Then it became useful just for the tech support becuse no XP, Seven or Ten type forums existed back then. Now, I just keep it because it makes the e-mail address stable. And they've held the old price so it's no big deal. But, like most of their other consumer stuff, they don't support it very well and it is tough at times to understand techs whose english is a second language.

Has anyone else noticed the subtle change in wording of the Group Policy for Option One in the tutorial, starting with 1703?
The last version to say 'Notify for download and notify for install' for option two was 1607. From 1703 on it says Notify for download and auto install'.
"Notify for download & Notify for install" missing - GPEDIT

I think the location for these settings changed.
The tutorial says HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU, but 1) the keys don't even exist, and 2) even if I change settings in the UI, they are not created.

The new location seems to be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings

    Hello Octopuss,

It's still working for me in Windows 10 v1803.

What edition of Windows 10 do you have?

Option 1 and 2 will not work in Windows 10 Home.
