You miss the point. In this thread we discuss how to prevent updates, not how to schedule them. I have not used many utilities, so I do not trust these. If you want control over which updates are blocked, you can use the Show/Hide tool to hide (block) selected updates. I would usually block driver updates that could give a BSOD, but I noticed that v2004 or higher has moved driver updates to "Optional Updates" section. In that case you should be worry-free that they will never get installed, unless you install them manually from the "Optional Updates". However, I would keep the Show/Hide tool handy, just in case.

The "Optional updates" section in my version 20H2 does not include driver updates, which are included in Windows Update MiniTool. See: How I stop this driver from downloading

AUOptions=2 is part of this tutorial so it's entirely appropriate to address its side-effects. I tried hiding the current defender update, it's not clear if it'll hold, even though the KB remains the same, the contents are obviously changing all the time.

Hiding a defender update did not work, WU eventually detected and notified a newer one.

Hello Spokit, and welcome to Ten Forums.

I'm afraid not for the Home edition. It will only work for the Pro and Enterprise editions.

If you like, option 7 is great to use for the Home edition.

    NOT with Home.

Option 7 is very popular => To Enable or Disable Automatic Updates using WAU Manager

    I hope this helps.
