Since 1709, MS has prevented disabling tasks and tightened up services even more, so I use this:
    Code:
    takeown /f "%WINDIR%\System32\UsoClient.exe" /a
icacls "%WINDIR%\System32\UsoClient.exe" /remove "Administrators" "Authenticated Users" "Users" "System"

I may just have to end up deleting the whole folder.
I have just done so. Let's see what will happen.

Has this guide already been updated to version 1709?

    Thanks

    Hello balubeto, :)

Yep, it still works for 1709. It's just that sometimes the setting may get reset back to default after an update when you do install one though.

Are you already working to find out the cause of this problem? When do you plan to get the final solution?

    Thanks

There's really not much that can be done other than set it again after it has been reset.

Ok, so I deleted the whole WindowsUpdate scheduled task folder, and disabled the Windows Update service, and Windows regenerated the entire WindowsUpdate scheduled task folder... so, even this doesn't seem to be the solution anymore.

I guess we have to do something to UpdateOrchestrator, as well, like what TairikuOkami seems to be referring to?

I guess I don't have to because I have already done something to DefaultMediaCost as follows:

No updates will be downloaded automatically as long as I do not click on 'Check for updates' under Windows Update.

Since 1703, security updates will be downloaded regardless, if you are 3 versions behind, even upgrades count.
