Windows 10: Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10
I'm not sure how to sort the gpedit issue, but it's unrelated to this tutorial.
Hello Brink, I'm getting the same error message.
It has something to do with the Geolocation-WLP-Adm.admx file
This happened once updated to 1511!!!
Any idea? Thanks
I'm afraid I don't know either, but it would be best to create a new thread for that issue since it's unrelated to this tutorial.
in the Local Group Policy screenshot , there is schedule install day :0 every day
it could be changed every Tuesday or Wednesday
is a good idea set every Tuesday?
or its better leave as it is ?
What would be better would depend on what you want or need.
that's w10 , just an advises ,windows 10 seems easy to mess up
B - has any of this been updated of late? the option in Advanced Properties / Hardware / Device installation has changed. it no longer says anything about 'driver' - maybe because it never worked on versions prior to 1511 anyway.
This issue of preventing Win10 from loading known bad drivers for devices is a plague down here at the SOHO level. I can't in good conscience put it in production for people who have no technical know-how if I know good and well that a device is going to be clobbered and then the customer is going to assume that the tech [me] is to ignorant to put up with.... which may be the case now that I think of it
Yep, it had been updated at the tutorial link in OPTION THREE, but I just forgot to update the screenshot here.
Apps aren't automatically downloaded after applying this, however i'm not being notified by windows.. Is that supposed to pop-up somewhere..?
This would only apply to Windows Update and not for apps.
If you like, you use the tutorial below for automatic app updates instead.
