It is. You would just need to enable and start it again anytime you want to check for and install updates.

I did step 6 in OPTION ONE and set in Group policy Notify for download and notify for install Now Windows update setting shows "Some settings are manged by your organization" and Choose how your updates are installed "Notify to download" but from yesterday i didn't get any notifications and when today i clicked Check for updated all updates download and installed automatically.

    Hello Mart, :)

    10. Sometimes it may take a while for it to kick in to not automatically download and install updates though.

Define "a while", are we talking hours, days and maybe a bunch of reboots?

I'm not sure why it's not working for you. Using the recommended setting in the tutorial still works for me on a clean install of Windows 10 Pro.

    Just today:

It varies per system. Sometimes immediately, and some reported the next day.

The only update I could test it with so far was KB3081424, which was automatically downloaded and installed days after setting it to notify only. Still haven't had any updates since**, not even Defender updates but that's probably because Defender got disabled after installing ESET Smart Security 8.
**ESET Smart Security 8 is able to indicate that there are updates for Windows available, at some point ESET Smart Security 8 kept indicating that a Silverlight update was available, which was not reported by the Windows updater. Never figured that one out, installed it manually by downloading the installer and installing it myself.

Anyway, to test again, I removed KB3081424 and had Windows check for updates. The result: KB3081424 gets downloaded and installed automatically again. So it still looks like this setting doesn't work at all.

It does for me though. I see what I posted above for all updates so far.
