You could set policies via Registry Editor using command, PowerShell, etc..., but the changes are not reflected in gpedit.msc.

That is something that looks strange to me - I mostly use registry tweaks and it is weird my changes in registry do not show up in gpedit, while the opposite is true - when I make changes in gpedit the changes are added in the registry.
