The .reg file didn't successfully get merged for you.
When you double click on the downloaded Add_BAT_to_New_context_menu.reg, do you get all the prompts in step 6 to approve merging it?
If not, are you comfortable manually adding the registry entries?
Yes I get all the prompts (I can run the file again and provide screenshots of messages presented if you like). Yes I'm comfortable editing the registry if provided step by step instructions.

Well don't I feel like an idiot. I went to run the file again and noticed I had downloaded and have been running the wrong file. DOH!!!! I was running the Remove bat instead of the Add bat. I've downloaded the Add, ran it and verified entries in the registry file. Unfortunately the pop up menu has not changed. Do I need to reboot before changes take effect?
The menu has changed. Here's what it looks like now...but i think I misunderstood what this was supposed to accomplish. What I was looking for is a way to get a directory listing out to a .txt file by right clicking on the folder (or in it) and running from the pop up menu a predefined .bat file that would accomplish this task. All that happens now is that a new blank .bat file with the name New Windows Batch File is created in the folder I'm in. Is there a way to modify the .bat file to accomplish the desired task?
I'm glad you got it added, but yeah it only creates a new blank .bat file. You can easily remove it though.
You might see if this below may work for you for a "View File Directory" option.
