How to Show All Open Windows Side by Side in Windows 10

In Windows, you can use the show windows side by side option to arrange all your open windows to be side by side with each other.

If you have more than one display, your open windows will only show side by side on the display that they are open on.

This tutorial will show you how to arrange your open windows to be side by side in Windows 10.

The side by side option shows 1/4 size windows stacked on top of each other on the left hand side of screen. Why isn't each windows 1/2 the screen size?

    Hello Steve,

I would adventure to guess it's due to Snap.

I have always had this problem from the first time I used Windows 10 Pro.

I've changed all Snap options and it has no effect. Also 'Show windows stacked' is the same as 'Show windows side by side'.

It looks like it now arranges them the same way snap would.

For a better view, I select cascade view.

Well that sucks to. I never use snap, even with snap disabled and restart, it still give blank part of the screen which is crazy in many ways... Oh God.. I don't know what will happen on windows 11 if they kept like this tho

It's been like this for years....

When I try to get "side by side", it never does it right. It usually just stacks them. Or puts them in a "weird" sort of spacing. Never the way it did when I first got the PC. From what I see above in comments, the answer is Cascade because that's what I have to do. Cascade two windows and then reshape them.

For two windows, I use the Win key + left arrow one one window then the Win key + right arrow on the other window to place them half size side by side.

Yes but we want it via right click menu on task bar . Seems snap ability is why this implemented in the first place, and UWP also. If there're no UWP application launched, snap will work normally, if there's UWP, well.. forget it *♂️
