Run dism /get-wiminfo /wimfile:H:\sources\install.wim to check if Index:1 is Pro edition.

If you created the iso from the Microsoft website it should be esd.
If you created the iso from another website it is typically wim.

One of these commands may be useful in identifying esd versus wim:

Identify the drive letter within file explorer and use that drive letter in the commands:

    dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:V:\sources\install.esd
    dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:V:\sources\install.esd /index:1
    Details for image : V:\sources\install.esd

If there are any problems running the dism commands then perform the in place upgrade repair.

The index-1 cmd identifies my usb has home version on it but I know the one installed is Pro. So why does media creation tool download home version.

To determine whether you have esd or wim:

Open file explorer > open the iso > look for the sources folder > open the folder > scroll to install > look for esd or wim

You will have to re-download the MCT for pro. I cannot tell why you are having the home version. Something unbeknownst to you happened between the lines.

Have downloaded three times and each time when checked it is 10 home but pc cmd clearly says 10 pro. Are both versions in same folder. The last one was over 4 gb in size. the other 2 were 3.85gb iso.
