    Windows 3.1 to Windows 10
       2015-12-04 #150

    Re-download through Techbench..
You must have an issue with the ISO..

Also using Index 1 is PRO and will work for Home or Pro repair

    Windows 10
       2015-12-05 #151

A couple of days ago I did a sfc/scannow and it found a couple or errors.
I did a DISM with a techbench windows 10 iso and rebooted the computer.
Afterwards I did sfc/scannow and it was done after 2 seconds!!! It just shows 78% and no integrity violations.

I checked the cbs.log (I deleted the old cbs.log first) Look at the end, it gives some weird errors I don't understand.

    Code:

The explanation is in this post:
Solved Difference between TechBench and Media Creation Tool - Windows 10 Forums

However, You can use the MCT version as mentioned above by @Kyhi or:

    1. Use the latest version of 7-Zip to extract the content of install.esd. For example: to a folder xxx on the desktop
    2. From Admin command prompt, use the syntax of dism as shown below:
      Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\xxx\windows /LimitAccess
Hey, I was out this weekend. Thanks for this information . The easiest way, after a few fails, was to use the techBench iso.

Whatever works is fine. I just provide an alternative if you don't have a Techbench version available then you can use MCT version without re-downloading it.

So once you know what you are doing then everything is easy.

The thing is that I followed the .esm route, but never worked. And that route is, basically, he same I did with the .wim file, but changing the source from the USB done using Media Creation Tool, to the ISO from TechBench. And that's what is weird, as long as both routes are suposed to work

    Windows 9 (aka Windows 10)

Since updating to Win10 a few months ago, I've run "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" many times as a routine check, and it always passed without issue. Until the recent major update, which broke it.

I started getting the error "Error: 0x800f081f ... The source files could not be found." So I found this thread. I used the media creation tool just now, and generated and mounted an ISO file. Then I ran this command:

    dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:"H:\sources\install.esd":1

And I still got "Error: 0x800f081f ... The source files could not be found."!

What gives? I double checked the path to the "install.esd" file, and it's correct. It really is "H:\sources\install.esd". I used the "Copy as path" function!

Also, I've run "sfc /scannow" many times, and that stopped coming back clean at the same time as dism did--after the recent major update. It says there are corrupt files that it cannot repair.

    Any advice?

Use procedure in post #152 with media creation tool.

Thanks. That seems to have worked, although the post omits the need to add a "1" or a "2" to the path to point to the appropriate subdir (depending on whether it's a Pro or Home system, respectively).

I just ran "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" with no error.

But doesn't this remove updates from the store and replace them with older versions?

Aaaaand... All that was for nothing. Actually, worse than nothing. Now, I'm in a worse position than before.

I was able to tell that the file causing dism and sfc issues was opencl.dll. That one file was updated in the SysWOW64 and wow64_microsoft-windows-r..xwddmdriver-wow64-c_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.10586.0_none_3dae054b56911c22 directories when I "fixed" the store using the aforementioned dism command.

Well it turns out the problem wasn't just me, and I should have kept the previous copy:
