How to Unpair a Bluetooth Device on Windows 10 PC

Bluetooth is a short range wireless technology which enables wireless data transmission between two Bluetooth–enabled devices located nearby each other.

If one Bluetooth–enabled (turned on) device is in discovery mode and discovers another Bluetooth–enabled device nearby, it can query for its services and choose to establish a Bluetooth link, or a 'pairing relationship', with the other Bluetooth–enabled device. Establishing a Bluetooth link with another Bluetooth–enabled device is also known as pairing.

Wireless devices with Bluetooth radios must be paired with each other before they can communicate.

Once the two devices have been paired, they will automatically connect to each other when they are within range and have Bluetooth turned on.

This tutorial will show you how to remove a paired Bluetooth device on your Windows 10 PC.

    Here's How:

    1. Open Settings, and click/tap on the Devices icon.

    2. Click/tap on Bluetooth & other devices on the left side, and click/tap on the paired Bluetooth device (ex" "SBrink-Phone") you want to remove on the right side. (see screenshot below)

    3. Click/tap on the Remove device button. (see screenshot below)

    4. Click/tap on Yes to confirm. (see screenshot below)

    That's it,

    Shawn,

This might just be a peculiarity of my particular computer or of my particular Bluetooth keyboard but when I found a pairing problem and wanted to repeat pairing, I found that the only way to unpair [so that pairing could find the keyboard again] was to go to Control panel, Devices and printers, select the device, right-click, select Remove device. Re-detection then re-pairing then proceeded correctly.

    Hello Bill @billt4g, :)

It will depend on the specific instructions for your headphones.

What is the brand and model number of your Bluetooth headphones?

Well, there's not a whole lot of instructions from your TaoTronics TT-BH20 Bluetooth On Ear Headset manual below, but here is what it says if you haven't already tried.

    https://www.taotronics.com/media/dow...r%20Manual.pdf

Q: Why can’t I pair the headphones with other Bluetooth devices?
A: Please check the following points:
    • Make sure your Bluetooth device supports profiles listed.
    • Make sure the headphones and your device are next to each other or within 3 feet / 1 meter.
    • You must get the headphones into pairing mode with the indicator flashing blue and red.
    • Try to reboot your Bluetooth® device.

    Pairing
    1) Make sure the headphones and your Bluetooth® device are next to each other (within 3 feet / 1 meter).
    2) Press and hold the Multifunction Button for 5 seconds to bring the headphones into pairing mode with the LED indicator ashing blue and red.
    3) Activate the Bluetooth function on your phone and search for nearby Bluetooth connections:
    • For iOS: Settings > Bluetooth > On
    • For Android: Settings >Bluetooth: On > Scan for devices
    4) Find “TaoTronics TT-BH20” in the search results. Tap on the name to connect. Once connected, the LED indicator will flash blue once every 3 seconds.

    Note:
    • If a PIN code is required for pairing, try “0000” (four zeroes).
    • The Bluetooth headphones can remember previously paired devices. If you have previously paired the headphones with a device, simply turn on your device and the headphones, they will connect to the last connected device automatically without going into pairing mode.

Pairing with two devices at the same time
Although you can pair with two devices, only one of them can play music or make phone calls with the headphones at any time. To pair with two devices:

    1) Follow the previous instructions in the “Pairing” section to pair the TT-BH20 with your rst device.
    2) Turn off the Bluetooth function of your rst device and follow the “Pairing” instructions again to pair and connect to your second device.
    3) With the Bluetooth function on both devices turned on, switch between the two paired devices by pausing the music on the rst device and playing music on the second device.

    Thanks Brink,

    I already had that info (I read the online manual). My problem is this;

I Bought both the Headphones, and their Bluetooth Transmitter. When I connected them up, all worked as it should. A couple of days later I paired the headphones to my laptop, this also was ok. Now however, I can't seem to get the phones paired to the transmitter again. They will pair to my laptop and to my Mobile, but not to the Transmitter (attached to my TV). To test the transmitter, I successfully paired it to a set of jogging earbuds.

So what I want to do is clear the Headphones Pairing memory, and start from the beginning again.

I found this below to hopefully reset it.

    bluetooth-transmitter-reset

If the transmitter cannot pair with your Bluetooth device, please kindly clear the pairing history by pressing the Multifunction Button when the transmitter is off until the LED indicator flashes red and blue simultaneously twice. Then restart the transmitter to pair again.
