    Your Windows is NOT Activated.

This will help => How to Activate Windows 10

As you have a Laptop, have a look in the battery compartment to see if the Product Key is there, or, on the bottom of the Laptop.

Consumer windows 10 licences never expire. If you are getting that message, it nearly always means you are running a company version - many unscrupulous sellers sell you that illegally.

Run following command from an admin command prompt.

    slmgr /dlv

You will get a popup window and tell us what it says after colon on line

    "Product Key Channel:"

If it says GVLK, you do not have a legitimate licence unless you are using a company pc, and still entitled by company to use licence.

    Hello @Moses Jordan,

Here is some additional information . . .

     License Types and Rules

MS offers Win 10 Licenses in many channels governed by different rules, but for most users, you can only acquire a License through the OEM [ Original Equipment Manufacturer ] or Retail channel.

An OEM License refers to the License that a manufacturer installs on new devices. If this is your case, the Product Key is NOT transferable, and you can NOT use it to Activate another installation [ unless you are re-activating a new installation on the same computer ].

A Retail License refers to the License that you acquire when purchasing a copy of Win 10 from your local store or an online retailer [ such as from MS or Amazon for example ]. If you have a Win 10 Retail License, you CAN transfer the Product Key to another computer, as long as you DEACTIVATE the Product Key on the other computer.

A Volume License is designed for large Businesses, Education, and Government. Usually, a Volume License allows organizations to use one master Product Key to Activate ANY installation of Win 10. Although you can use this License multiple times on different computers, you can NOT transfer it with the device when the system ownership changes, and you are NOT allowed to use the License to Activate devices that are NOT part of the Organization.

    I hope this helps.

    Win10 Pro Key

Hi I want to reinstall my windows. There's a slight issue though. My friend used the media creation tool so he says & a windows 10 key meaning I didn't buy the actual disc(retail) so with ShowKeyPlus I found the key but there's a blue astrik beside it that says.

*Default Key - requires digital license for activation.

Now I want to use said key that ShowKeyPlus found. Will there be any issues with activation. Right now I DON'T have any issues with the system or activation. I need to do a reinstall because of corrupt software from my motherboard maker.

Oh & just a side note I've bricked 2 USB thumb drives trying to make this darn Windows 10 & in all my yrs of dealing with thumb drives I've never bricked not a single 1 till now
