You need to make sure the address for it in regedit is the one where you place the bmp file.
For example OEM systems like system builders, or HP, Razor, MSI and so one use an extra folder in C:Windows.
But you built the system your self, so place it in system32 where Windows has it's version. You can either overwrite the Win10 version, of save it as oemlogo.bmp.bak by renaming the old logo, then paste a copy of your new one.

    Yeah, it's the oemlogo.

Oh man, I'm killing myself because the tutorial says it needs to be 32-bit, not 24, which is what Paint does. And yeah, I've got everything working except the logo

Got it. Yeah, 24-bit works. @Brink needs to adjust that tutorial.

    Thanks.
Tutorial now changed to use 24-bit.

They should really only use Paint for the final "save as" too.
I have tried Gimp and Paint 3D and for some reason Windows doesn't like their bmp saves

    Thanks Shawn.
It might help if someone has everything else correct, even save as 24bit bmp, but still not seeing the image.
I believe it might have to do with the metadata that's saved along with the image in other graphics programs.

    This worked.
However, can you provide of a way to reverse this, or set it back to default please?

    Hello George,

The .bat file only automatically changes the manufacturer and model values in the tutorial.

You can delete these values like in the tutorial to restore it back to default.
