I wanted to reset my backups and I used the batch file Reset Windows Backup.bat. After running and restarting, I get the screen that allows me to set up a new backup, as expected. I am able to step through the set up wizard with no errors. When I get to the last button prior to performing the backup,

I get the following error: Status_Wait_2 0x8007002 code with NO additional information.

    Can you help?

Thanks for the response. None of the examples in the microsoft support article are relative. My backup never starts. There are no other errors other than the one I listed above. The error comes up when I press Save Settings and Perform Backup at the end of the setup wizard.

In that case, go ahead and run a SFC /SCANNOW command like below to see if it may find and repair any corrupted or modified system files that may be responsible for this error.

I have run the SFC /SCANNOW, and the three DISM commands with no luck. All of the commands reported that they found no issues.

Double check you backup setup to see if there may be any locations included to be backed up that are not actually there.

As a test, see if the backup will work with just the bare settings and a single folder included in the backup to help rule out the above.

I verified that all locations exist. I selected the Let Me Choose the drives to backup and unselected all of them. Got the same error message, ran again but selected only the C:\ drive, same error message. I unchecked the create a system image and got the same error message.

I do get a progress bar prior to the error message but it only flashes and it is too fast to see what it is. Is there a way to step the process to see what is being displayed?

Well, since nothing appears to be wrong with what's being backed up and where it's being saved to, you could try doing a repair install of Windows 10 to see if it may fix it without losing anything.

After deleting it, I think you need to recreate the empty key WindowsBackup. It seems Windows Backup is not smart enough to do it for you.

Thank you. The .bat file in the tutorial has been updated to recreate an empty WindowsBackup key.

I was searching for a tutorial on how to restore the actual service, but I could not find anything, you have a tutorial that will help restore system services? I saw one at W7 forums, I've been all through here, could not find anything.
