    Hello Kaby, :)

    You would most likely get a location not found type error message.

    I guessed as much. I was hoping it would default back to the Downloads folder on the PC similar to the Storage Spaces feature of Windows 10. Oh well...

    If you like, you could test and see since it won't hurt anything.

    I presume you already knew this but figured I would share in case others had the same inquiry... :)

    You get an error...

    That's what we figured, but it was worth a play with to confirm.

    @Brink or anyone
    I had moved my documents folder to D:\Documents a long time back. This PC > Documents points to the same place.
    BUT I have found that the original folder has been recreated, i.e. C:\Users\Alan\Documents, which is causing problems. For a start, it doesn't have a location tab.

    If I consolidate all the data into D:\Documents, howw can I stop this happening again?

    Hello Alan @ognik,

    Do you have any app saving into the "C:\Users\Alan\Documents" folder?

    Thanks, appreciated.

    1.
    Outlook - I know how to more that, must have got it wrong before.
    Then some games, I wonder if they have C:\Users\... hard coded instead of using the quick access shortcut.... so these will need a reinstall.

    My plan would be to sort the above, then delete the folder .. would hate it to happen again - hence my question?

    2. side question:
    I had heard that startup would be much quicker if large folders weren't under the %user% - is that right?
