Hello! I recently changed my default downloads folder to my external hard drive (the exact file location is D:\), however, all of my newly downloaded items are still only showing up under Users: Oscar: Downloads: . How do I fix this?

PS: I am new to 10 forums so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello Fezzle, and welcome to Ten Forums.

If this is for a browser, then you may need to change the browser's downloads folder location settings to point to the new location.

I see this tread has some age, but my comment is directly related.

After trying to change the default download location to the Desktop and having to create a folder, I did some research and decided to put a shortcut in the Documents and Downloads folder to the Desktop and it works great because Windows will look to one of these folder for the Save location and it only requires a double click to put the download into the preferred location.
