One more point Shawn that I forgot to ask. After successfully relocating the Downloads folder to the D: Data drive I was left with a Downloads link under Quick Access (with a standard yellow folder not the yellow folder with the blue downward facing arrow) which when selected couldn't be accessed because it was pointing to the now removed C:/Users folder/Downloads. There was no way of deleting it or unpinning it from the Quick access menu. The only way I eventually managed to get rid of the link was create a new Documents folder in the Users folder and immediately delete it. This deleted the newly created Documents folder and also the Documents link that I previously couldn't remove from underneath the Quick Access menu. Was it OK to do this? It was the only way I could remove it. I couldn't find an alternate or easier method

That would be fine since the Downloads folder is still registered to the "D" location.

After removing it from the Quick Access menu. I then selected the D:/Downloads folder..right clicked on it and selected Pin to Quick Access and it appeared under Quick access with the yellow folder and Blue down facing arrow. I wasn't able to do this until I had firstly removed the problematic Quick Access Download link as I described above that pointed to the missing default Users/Downloads folder...when I clicked on Pin to Quick Access it didn't do anything at all.

I messed up while moving and accidentally moved it to a whole drive and now I can't get it back. Is there any way or do I just have to live with it?

fixed the problem now: if anyone else incounters this problem

Brink, shouldn't this tutorial work on the Documents, Pictures, and Music folders as well?

    Thanks.

I changed my default downloads location, but it isn't exactly working

Hello! I recently changed my default downloads folder to my external hard drive (the exact file location is D:\), however, all of my newly downloaded items are still only showing up under Users: Oscar: Downloads: . How do I fix this?

PS: I am new to 10 forums so any help would be greatly appreciated!
