UUPtoISO should now be whitelisted in Windows Defender also when running it in build 15061 regardless of language version. For those few of you geeks who had issues with it being falsely flagged as threat: I am sorry for the inconvenience.
I am happy to report a new installation of UUPtoISO.exe no longer causing defender to be upset.
Thank you Kari for your quick action on our behalf.

I used the UUP to ISO tool and created a WIM of Insider Preview 15060 in error and now cannot create a bootable ISO using Rufus and obviously cant redo it with this build. Is there anything else I can do or do I just have to wait for the next update? That could be very soon the way they have been rolling out actually!

    Thanks,

If you have install.wim, it's easy to make an ISO of it. Do Part Five in this tutorial using your install.wim as "custom install.wim" mentioned in tutorial: Create Windows 10 ISO image from Existing Installation

Did you run Disk Cleanup yet? If not, the files needed to make the ISO, not WIM again, are in Windows.old. They are NOT guaranteed to be there, but usually are. Take a look.

Never mind. Kari was posting the same time I was. Do it his way........

In fact your way is faster (and easier) :)

I removed the strike trough in the quote, it's worth to at least check Windows.old.

Out of curiosity, do you think this would have occurred at all if it was just the set of scripts (whether cmd-based batch or Powershell or even VBScript) versus being an actual executable? I'm not knocking the executable at all, mind you, I'm just curious - as long as the tool does what it is supposed to I am all for it.
I recently did a PowerShell script which takes a full Windows 10 Home ESD file and uses it to create a combo Home and Pro ISO, using nothing but PowerShell. All you need is the ESD and the PowerShell PS1 script file to be in the same folder. You don't need to have access to oscdimg.exe, nor Wimlib executables. It was very crude and inflexible, since I am not a programmer, but it worked.

However, if you try to download it as a .PS1 file from a website or Public OneDrive folder, Windows Defender flags it as suspicious and wants to upload it to be checked. The easiest way to distribute it then is to leave it as a .TXT file.

All of that to say, yes, Windows Defender will see any unknown executable file as suspicious if you try to download it (which is a good thing).

Which PS Script are you referring to? The ones I know of require you to partially download Windows ADK. For DISM if it's missing and for CD imaging it uses oscdimg which is also included in ADK.

    Kari,

I did it his way after all and it could not have gone smoother. So in all of this and some other issues which I receved support form here but with different people I was presented with the idea of just doing a clean installation onto the SSD I am upgrading to rather than go through doing a System Image and then restoring it to the SSD. Since I did a Clean Install a couple of weeks ago I really don't have a whole lot on my hard drive that I am transferring anyway so it does make sense although I do have some questions of course...

Do I use this Intall disk I just created to clean install Insider Preview 15060? If yes, what do I have to do to prepare the SSD for the installation as far as partitioning, aligning, etc...given that I won't be using Macrium for a Clean Install and I am pretty sure their program takes care of most of that.

I am so close to finally getting this project completed and I just really don't want to screw it up beyond repair.

While I await your response I will be verifying this new install usb thumb drive works, linking my Microsoft account to this device, running disk cleanup and making a System Image with Macrium as backup in case of the worst possible outcome.

Thanks for all of your help and Happy Spring!

This uses a PowerShell Function, written by Chris Wu, to create the ISO instead of requiring oscdimg.exe or imagex, etc. https://gallery.technet.microsoft.co...ction-a8deeffd

DISM from Windows 10 has everything needed. Older versions of DISM, from prior Windows versions, may not have had all required functionality.

The script linked above (and the one that I wrote to create a combined Home and Pro ISO from the Home ESD) use only PowerShell cmdlets instead of DISM. What I wrote was just a learning exercise for me, since getting a full ESD file for an Insider Fast Ring build may soon no longer be possible.
