Actually Kari, I do not think this is correct. I am pretty sure if it did not back up UEFI, we would have heard about it long ago.

I got same error as Bernievink when I first tried it as I had not run Backup Setup. I am pretty sure this is just a bug.
Once I ran Backup Setup, it worked fine.

It certainly was ropey at one time. I had not long bought the 2013 version (IIRC) and it had a serious UEFI issue and many people reported it but instead of giving an update to 2013, they bought out 2014 and expected everybody to pay for an upgrade!
I dislike Acronis's commercial practices.
I tried out MRF and have never looked back.
Holy Crap - I spoke too soon - I thought it was backing up ok but it bombed out with a similar error message.
I know I have done it in past on EUFI installs.
I am pretty sure this is an Insider bug!

EDIT: I have just found if you change backup settings and select "let windows choose", it seems to work but not if you choose yourself. There is clearly a bug somewhere.

As far as I can tell, a system image containing all UEFI / GPT partitions to be able to restore the image on an empty HDD / SSD is not possible using Windows native Backup and Imaging.
Running Backup Setup as you mentioned in your earlier post makes it possible to image Windows partition, but as the EFI system must be excluded, the image provided only allows restoring the Windows partition. It does not allow restoring a fully functional Windows setup to an empty disk.
If you want a complete system image containing all partitions required to boot and run Windows on an UEFI / GPT system, you must use a third party imaging application.

I have just got it working. If you go and change setting and allow Windows to choose - it works. It is when you try and select things yourself (as I did in video) it fails. I am certan it is supposed to work but there is a bug.
EDIT: Got much further and it failed again. This does not make sense!
I guess you are right. I just cannot believe we have never seen this before - I still think it is a bug and not by design.

Thanks for taking the time to post this, Kari. I gobbled that up. My system at present is MBR. When the Fall update is released I want to convert to GPT. This will make it a whole lot easier. :)
So far as W7 mirroring in 10; I have no problem with it mirroring it in my CU, but I haven't needed to use it to use it since I never have problems with that system (knock on wood). My Insiders I don't mirror since they are short-lived. However, in those I do use System Protection via restore points, which seems to work fine. As I explained in the 16353 thread I did have to use it the other day in which it stated it couldn't finish, but a file checker scan was clean. Even after undoing that point the system runs as it should. Just plain weird.
Honestly, no offence, I do not care if it works or not. As I decided to test Windows native imaging, I excluded the system partitions and started a test backup, backing up the two partitions I would need to restore a functioning Windows 10, the Windows partition C: and partition E: where I have relocated the main user profile folder Users.
The backup has now run 2 hours and 50 minutes, not halfway through:
Using Macrium, I can make a full system image including UEFI system partitions in less than 25 minutes.
Just let me know when you need a DISKPART script, I can make a custom script to you based on how you want to partition the system disk (disk where Windows will be installed). The script I posted is quite basic, to partition a disk where all available space after system partitions will be used for Windows partition. In case you want more data partitions on the same disk, the script needs to be modified.
