    Build 15060 coming later today.
I installed UPPtoISO in a temp VHDX and made an ISO from this build. It worked perfectly so thank you.

It correctly created the ISO in my temp vhdx that I can share with other VMs later.

Small bug at the end, sorry to be picky, "Press any key to exit" doesn't actually exit just drops into the shell...

Yes I noticed that. Luckily it's nothing serious, just a single extra mouse click.

    Kari,
Successfully created 15060 ISO using latest UUPtoISO version.
Also updated my ISO to add "Repair" option, this time using Microsoft 15048 ISO as the source.

    Thanks

Build 15060 coming later today. If you haven't uninstalled old version and replaced it with one posted today, do it now!

A reminder, quoting something posted earlier today:

That is the public release according to Wzor.

It would be nice if you could NOT just package the script as a .exe by the way. By all means if you think it is easier for some people but put a .zip with the same things in. It would be better if you showed what it does.

All previous versions I would compare your changes against the original MDL version. You are now hiding the changes which is unfortunate as it should be open source and clear to everyone exactly what it does.

I find this a very confusing post! Mind to elleborate what you mean by "show us what it does?".

    Am I missing something here?

    TIA & Cheers

I agree about the confusion! We know what the app/script does.

There has been so much confusion and problems surrounding the script files and how to get them properly working, that it was decided to package everything in to an executable. It is easier to maintain, version and redistribute. Also it removes all Windows nags when files has been updated.

The original script has not changed much since the original batch files. Next version might however change a lot since we have a plan to redesign the whole tool and make it more reliable. Whether source will be released or not for those versions, I have no idea, as no decisions has been made yet. But for now you can refer to the original script files, the exe is just a repackage of the same thing.

Another small piece of confusion, or probably misunderstanding. Many times you refer to we. May I ask who "we" is?

WE as in those who maintain the scripts and release them here for general public consumption.

    Guys, here's my two cents:

I did not make this an EXE to hide the script. I have always stressed the fact that our UUPtoISO uses an original script made by esteemed fellow geeks at MDL. I mention it as often as I can, in various places and circumstances. A good example is the Changelog part at the end of the tutorial as quoted here:

    UUPtoISO Changelog:

All versions using original UUP decrypter script (uup-converter-wimlib-5) by abbodi1406 and rgadguard at MDL.

    • Version 1. > Batch file decrypter
    • Version 2.0 > Added an installer
    • Version 2.1 > Batch compiled to an application (.exe)
    • Version 2.2 > Updated installer, shortened code by removing unnecessary elements, corrected some spelling in prompts shown to end user
    • Version 2.2.0.1 > Only one minor change, replaced a very pixelated low res Ten Forums logo in installer's last prompt with a high res image
    • Version 2.2.1.0 > Current version, updated 16-MAR-2017. Fixed missing bit architecture in ISO name (x86, x64), added tutorial link to install folder, fixed some more typos
As I would never post a News article without mentioning a source, I will also not use someone's code without naming the source, claiming that it is mine. Kudos where kudos belongs. I respect the work of abbodi1406 and rgadguard and other geeks at MDL too much to take credits from their work.

My part in script is really only some minor edits, changing how some prompts shown to end user are written, removing some unnecessary lines and occasionally fixing some minor bugs like now fixing one line that because of a wrong value left out the processor architecture from ISO name.

My goal was to make the process as easy as possible allowing UUPtoISO being an installed app to make it appear in Start, to make uninstall easy using Settings > Apps, to automatically create a desktop icon if so preferred and so on.

I can guarantee that our UUPtoISO tool using said original script from MDL members works doing exactly what tutorial says it does. If any of you want to make any changes in the script or want to see what it contains, those not happy with UUPtoISO as an application which then runs the script are of course free to use original script instead, link to uup-converter-wimlib-5 in highlighted part of above quote, or any other decrypter found on the Internet.

The tool in this tutorial will be delivered also in the future as an installer installing an EXE version of it.

    Kari
